The Mark 2 Foucault Pendulum on the first floor of White Oak Hall is constantly in motion, moving back and forth in a round enclosure with a sun painted on it. Its purpose is to artistically display math and science. The $35,000 brass pendulum weighs approximately 235 pounds and moves in a circular motion because it is in sync with earth's rotation. 11/03/23
